Misato Uehara

To become a city doctor applying science to real spaces, I study and test valuable research worldwide.
I majored in Design Sciences (Environmental Design, 1996–2005) in Japan, which was the first comprehensive department integrating architecture, urban planning, landscaping, and environmental engineering since 1968. My doctoral thesis at Kyushu University focused on the application of ecological planning for sustainable land use.
I am a Professor at the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Shinshu University (National), and hold a Doctor of Design degree from Kyushu University. I have served as a Japan Delegate for the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) (2016–2024) and am a member of the Japan Landscape Architecture Union (JLAU).
